DAY 18 / 100 02.02.2025

Darkroom Chaos

In crimson darkness, where time slips away,
We dance with shadows, make night into day.
Expired paper? “Wieso nicht?” we grin,
As ancient chemicals swirl and spin.

The enlarger hums its mechanical song,
Ten seconds pass – sweet heaven, that’s wrong!
A smartwatch glints like a treacherous star,
Destroying the image we’ve chased so far.

“Should we switch to digital?” we sigh in the gloom,
But our hearts beat analog in this sacred room.
Memories drift like ghosts through our sight,
As we conjure them back in the blood-colored light.

Our fingers stained with developer’s kiss,
Each failure brings us closer to bliss.
The chemistry rebels, the timing’s insane,
But we’re madly in love with this beautiful pain.

Through fix and wash and silver’s desire,
We’re alchemists stoking an ancient fire.
When perfect prints finally emerge from the deep,
We toast to the secrets that darkness can keep.

So here’s to the chaos, the analog way,
To mistakes that teach us day after day.
In this red-lit kingdom where time holds its breath,
We’ll dance with these shadows until our death.

For we are the guardians of what’s nearly lost,
Where magic still happens, whatever the cost.
In our darkroom haven, where chaos takes flight,
We’ll keep the flame burning through endless night.
